Hello everyone!
I'd like to share a small project that was born from a real need.
I have two young athletes at home. Like many passionate sports parents, I got into the habit of filming their games and livestreaming them on YouTube so that friends and family who couldn't attend could still watch.
During every single livestream, the chat would constantly fill up with the same question:
"What's the score?"
Eventually, I got tired of answering it over and over and decided to find a solution myself. So I rolled up my sleeves and developed an Android app that adds a live graphic overlay to the video, showing:
The current score
The names of both teams
The teams' official colors
I'm really happy with how it turned out, and the final result looks very professional.
Now I'd like to officially publish the app on the Google Play Store so that anyone can use it. However, Google has become quite strict with new app releases and requires a testing period with real users before approval. Testers simply need to install the app on their Android device and keep it installed for a few weeks.
The app is free and will remain free for its core features.
There is one advanced premium feature: creating and managing livestreams directly from the app, without having to schedule them first through YouTube Studio. This feature is paid only because Google charges me for the use of its APIs and related services.
As a thank you to everyone willing to help with testing:
✅ You'll get free access to all features, including premium ones.
✅ The free access will be valid throughout the testing period.
✅ You'll continue to enjoy full premium access for the first 6 months after the official Play Store release.
If you livestream hockey, soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, or any other sports events and would like to help me get through Google's testing requirement, please leave a comment below or send me a private message. I'll explain the next steps!
Thank you so much to anyone willing to support a dad-developer and his project.
